Playing country, bluegrass, reggae, rock, blues and world music, the award winning band Spaghetti Cake travels throughout the U.S. and prides itself on entertaining the entire family. The musician/educators who comprise the band focus on providing positive and celebratory messaging, especially for children who have been known to join the band on stage to sing and dance.
FYI, the name Spaghetti Cake comes from a family recipe of band co-creator Glen Nelson.
About Town spoke to Christopher Eddy, drummer and vocalist from Spaghetti Cake, about their upcoming performance at the Collinsville Farmers Market.

AT: What do you like most about playing farmers markets?
CE: As a band for families, Spaghetti Cake is a perfect fit for the Market and it's been on my wish list to play there. So, it's great to make it happen and be a part of such a cool event. We hope to make a lot of new friends.

AT: What are the biggest challenges facing a band playing a farmers market?
CE: The only challenge I anticipate is heat or the elements.
AT: What can the CFM audience expect from your band?
CE: We're a rock band for the whole family -- we are about fun, friendship, imagination and positivity. We play all original songs, as well as a few choice covers by bands like The Beatles and They Might Be Giants. Most of the time, we are a full electric rock band, but we plan on playing a nice semi-acoustic set for the Farmer's Market.
AT: What's the value of having music at a farmer's market?
CE: The Farmers Market, while focused on locally produced food and crafts, is really about community and getting out to enjoy the day and each other's company. As musicians, we're making something that's locally produced too. So, what better soundtrack to a Sunday morning in Collinsville?
