Public Invited to Special Night of Live Theater to Benefit Canton Historical Museum

RTC encourages public to attend regardless of affiliation.

The Republican Town Committee is inviting the public to take part in a special non partisan night of live theater and a pre-show social to benefit the Canton Historical Museum.

The organization is selling tickets to Farmington Valley Stage Company’s Saturday, Feb. 22 production of Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs.” The $40 a person or $75 per couple tickets include a pre-social with drink and appetizers at Canton Historical Museum and an 8 p.m. show at the Canton Town Hall Auditorium.

The museum is actively working on building improvements and accessibility and proceeds benefit its development fund. The event is also designed to promote the theater, which is in its second season.

“It’s a great cause people can rally around whatever their political affiliation,” RTC Chairman Brian First said.

Tickets are limited to 150 people. To reserve call Carol Barlow at (860) 693-0407.

First said the event came out of Republican Town Committee discussions to be more involved in the community. First Selectman Richard Barlow came up with and did the planning for this one, First said. He also added that the organization plans to host more events in town.

“We want to continue to find events that we can host, sponsor or facilitate,” First said.
