Gifts For Canton Kicks Off this Weekend

Drive runs through Dec. 9

Submitted release

Please help your Canton neighbors this Holiday season with new gifts and gift cards for all ages. The annual Holiday Gift/Toy drive for Canton runs through Dec. 9. As you can imagine, the need this year is great, so your support will be all the more critical. All gifts, cash donations, and gift cards will go to help our less fortunate Canton neighbors. Gift Collection boxes and Coin Collection boxes will be placed around town at the usual locations for your convenience starting the weekend of Nov 17.

Teenagers and adults are often forgotten and need your help as much as smaller children. Suggestions might include: books; toys; gift certificates for clothes, food, household items; etc. All items must be new and unwrapped. Cash donations are especially helpful this year as they can be used as specific needs arise throughout the year for food, fuel, and other necessities. Donations can be sent year-round to Gifts for Canton, c/o The Canton Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 704, Canton, CT 06019.

Gifts for Canton is sponsored by the Canton Chamber of Commerce and supported by Focus on Canton, the Canton Lions Club, and the Rotary Club of Avon-Canton.

Please join the Canton Police Department on Saturday, Dec. 8 to help "Stock the Cruiser" with gifts, gifts certificates, and non perishable food items at The Shoppes at Farmington Valley from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This event is hosted by the Canton Police Dept. Last year an entire trailer was filled.
