Free Ice Cream at Canton Ben & Jerry's This Week

Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's in Canton is here! The day is also dedicated to the Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department. Here's how you can help.

What better way to celebrate the return of warm weather than with free ice cream? Ben & Jerry's is saying "thank you" to its loyal customer base on Free Cone Day.

From noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, Ben & Jerry's of Canton, 110 Albany Turnpike, is scooping up sweet treats for free.

The day coincides with an opportunity for those same customers to spread the love and give back to the community by donating to the Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department.

It's also the shop's grand re-opening so there's a lot to celebrate on Free Cone Day!

Last year, the community donated more than $2,000, according to a press release from Sylvia Cancela, Public Relations Officer with the Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department.

Since 2005, more than $15,500 in donations have been collected via Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Days. One hundred percent of all donations go toward training and equipment for Canton’s volunteer firefighters and EMTs, Cancela said.

Volunteer fire and EMS members will give fire truck and ambulance tours and providing information about opportunities in the fire and emergency medical services.

Planning on taking pictures? Ben & Jerry's is hoping you will use the hashtag #FreeConeDay when you post your images to Instagram and join the online community in rejoicing.
