Foodshare Remains Some 2,000 Turkeys Short of Need

Despite a call for help Monday, Foodshare said it remains some 2,000 turkeys short in its Thanksgiving drive for needy families in the area.

Foodshare is urging all greater Hartford residents to drop off turkey donations at its Bloomfield warehouse 450 Woodland Ave., Bloomfield between 6 a.m. and noon on Tuesday.

According to Gloria McAdam, Foodshare’s President and CEO, “The situation is dire – there is a real possibility that some of those (2,033) families will be turned away, and that’s not including last minute requests from individuals who are hoping we’ll have extra turkeys on hand.”
