Farmington Valley Stage Company Prepares To Launch 2013-2014 Season

The Farmington Valley Stage Company is preparing to kick off its 2013-2014 season with Bermuda Avenue Triangle later this month.

Artistic director Howard Hirsch said it's the start of a season with high quality but humorous shows.

"It's a funny kickoff to a funny season," he said.

Hirsch said in the still-struggling economy, light-hearted but quality entertainment is important.

The show, which starts Sept. 20, will be the start of the company's second season.

In April of 2012, Canton selectmen authorized the town to enter an agreement for the stage company to use the Town Hall Auditorium for approximately $700 per month with the right to charge more if additional costs are incurred. Recently that arrangement was renewed for a second year.

The stage company has developed a great relationship with the town and area businesses and restaurants, Hirsch said.

"We couldn't be happier with the space," he said.

The six-member cast of Bermuda Avenue Triangle includes regional performers Shirley DePhilips and Rosemary Beskind, Kevin Reid and Albert Geetter, Barbara Gallow and Miriam Neiman.
