Canton Schools Closed Friday

All Canton public schools are closed Friday due to the weather. Watch out for the ice!

The Canton Public Schools website has announced all schools in the district are closed for the day.

Here's the Canton-specific forecast from the National Weather Service (as of 6:51 a.m.):

  • Friday: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph.
  • Friday night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 22. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
  • Saturday: A chance of snow, mainly after 9am. Patchy fog between 1pm and 4pm. Patchy freezing fog after 4pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 32. Light northeast wind becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Saturday night: A chance of snow, mainly before 1am. Patchy freezing fog before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 14 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 26. Northwest wind 13 to 15 mph.
  • Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 6.
  • Monday (Washington's Birthday): Sunny, with a high near 28.
  • Monday night: Snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent..
