Canton Lifeguards Win Awards in Statewide Lifeguard Olympics

The Town of Canton Parks and Recreation lifeguard staff competed in the annual state-wide Lifeguard Olympics on Sunday July 19th at Page Park pool. The event was hosted by the Connecticut Parks and Recreation Association.

Lifeguards from around the state competed in a number of competitive swim events including: Rescue Tube Relay, First Aid Trivia/Buzz Game, Backboarding, Rescue Words Trivia‐Livia Game, Biathalon (500 yard swim, ½ mile run, 500 yard swim, ½ mile run) and Submerged Brick Retrieval Relay.

Canton's lifeguards placed 2nd for Submerged Brick Relay, 3rd for Shallow Water Backboarding and won 3rd place for Rescue Tube Relay.

Their trophies are located at Mills Pond Pool, 14 East Hill Road, Canton, CT.
