Canton Flick & Float Set for Saturday, Aug. 31

This Saturday, the Parks and Recreation Department will combine fun at the pool with an outdoor movie.

Flick & Float is set for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 — weather permitting of course. Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended.

"We wanted to do a little something special at the pool," said Parks and Recreation director Brian Wilson. The department has wanted to show an outdoor movie for some time and staff members suggested the pool idea for the final weekend of the season, Wilson added.

The event will take place at Mills Pond Pool on East Hill Road and feature "Hook." A portable screen will be set up on the side of the pool.

People can bring a small flotation device for the pool or camp type chair to sit on the decking.

Attendance is limited. As of Friday afternoon, about 40 of 100 spots remained. If any spots remain, passes will be available at the "door" but Wilson said he recommends registration to ensure a spot.
