Avon-Canton Rotary Club Fuels FOCUS Center for Autism with $1,000 Grant

Rotarians use their multidisciplinary perspectives to see new challenges in unique ways. FOCUS Center for Autism uses a similar approach. When providing services to children on the Autism Spectrum, an integrative approach is used to address the variety of critical needs that can impede success. In its Extended Day Treatment Program, two of those needs include breakfast and transportation. If a child does not receive proper nutrition, they can be impacted cognitively, academically and socially. If transportation becomes an issue, their continuity of care is disrupted. FOCUS has alleviated these concerns by running successful Breakfast and Transportation Programs.

Rotarians believe that responsible leadership means making the most out of every award they give. For the Rotary Club of Avon-Canton, this comes in the form of a $1,000 grant awarded to FOCUS earlier this year. The funds are being used to provide nutritious breakfast items and to subsidize the transportation costs of two children. FOCUS is very appreciative of the Avon-Canton Rotary’s generosity, and thanks them for their support.
