PGA Family Course Program At Farmington Woods Golf Course

Farmington Woods Golf Course (FWGC) features the PGA Family Course.   The program, which was launched in a partnership with the PGA of America and U.S. Kids Golf, gives families the chance to play golf at Farmington Woods in a welcoming environment.

“The traditional golf course setup is not conducive to families enjoying the game together, because most regulation golf holes are far too long for kids and beginners, “ said Dan Van Horn, Founder and CEO of U.S. Kids Golf. “We’re delighted that Farmington Woods Golf Course has adopted our program to make the game more inviting for an entire family.”

The Family Course Program turns the regulation golf course into a “short course” using PGA Family Tee Markers that are set at shorter yardages, well in front of the tee boxes.  This allows the golfer to reach greens within regulation, shoot lower scores, and play in less time.   Most importantly, it allows them to have fun, even at an early age, or an early stage of learning.  Any adults who don’t hit so far can also use them, as well as busy people, short on time, who wish to shave considerable time off their round.
