Navigate the Affordable Care Act: A How-To Guide - Oct 3

From October 2013 through March 2014, enrollment for health insurance created under the new Affordable Care Act will be open, and many Connecticut residents know they will need to take action. Unfortunately, a great deal of confusion exists, and we at the library want our patrons to receive answers to their questions about this very important legislation that affects all of us. Through the Connecticut Library Consortium we have invited a speaker from the Universal Health Care Foundation to give a talk which will inform and prepare library patrons to navigate the new requirements. On Thursday, October 3, from 6:30 PM-7:30 PM, a representative from the Universal Healthcare Foundation of Connecticut (UHCF) will come to the Canton Library to explain the Affordable Care Act's requirements. The UHCF is an independent, non-profit, philanthropic organization whose mission, in part, is to help people understand how to get access to the health care that is being offered. The speaker on October 3rd will lay out how to use Connecticut's new health insurance "marketplace," in an unbiased, easy-to-understand fashion and will also answer questions from our patrons. The program is free, but registration is requested for seating set-up. For information, please call (860) 693-5800, email kbunn@cantonpubliclibrary.org, or visit www.cantonpubliclibrary.org. Canton Public Library is at 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton.
