Gina Barreca celebrating International Women's Day at A Toast To Women March 6 at Avon Old Farms Hotel

Join celebrated Hartford Courant weekly columnist, best-selling author, and UCONN professor Gina Barreca as she delivers a hilarious and trouble-making keynote at "A Toast to Women!" - An Evening of Wine & Chocolate Delights.  Presented by Soroptimist International of Farmington Valley, CT (SIFV) and hosted by Avon Old Farms Hotel, this event takes place on March 8th from 7:30 – 10:00 PM and honors International Women’s Day.  Debbie Wright, owner of Project Closet and fashion stylist on WFSB’s Better CT and 96.5 WTIC FM’s Damon Scott Show, will be the evening’s emcee.  Renowned live auctioneer John Motley, principal of Motley Consulting, will present exciting opportunities such as a tour of ESPN and lunch for 4 people with Mike Golic of the “Mike & Mike” show for guests to outbid each other.

While bidding on an array of silent auction items, savor fine wines from around the world and sample original chocolate creations by celebrated chefs from Seasons Restaurant, Ann Howard/Apricots, Cavey’s Restaurant, Carole Peck’s Good News Café, The Grist Mill, Millwrights, and Max Downtown.  Laura Day, Pastry Chef of The Simsbury Inn, will conduct a seminar on making truffles and Miriam Rieder, owner of Taste by Spellbound, will provide you samples of her original gourmet chocolate icings.  Entertainment will be provided by renowned pianist Paul Biasaccia, Melodic Tapestry, and the Grace Academy Girls’ Choir.
