Avon Prime Meats cuts ribbon for new name

A steady stream of patrons came to enjoy food and festivities May 3 during a party celebrating a change in name from The Meat House to Avon Prime Meats. Nothing has changed but the name of the store, located at 395 West Main St., Avon. Premium meats and gourmet food are still the store’s focus, while the ownership, management, staff, products, gift cards and rewards cards all remain the same. The store is no longer a franchise but an independent business owned by Rich and Janice Gallivan. A ceremonial ribbon was cut in front of the store May 3 to mark the opening of Avon Prime Meats.
