“Toy Dance Party” A Special Dance-Filled Event at the Canton Public Library

We’re having a “Toy Dance Party!” Help us celebrate “the further adventures of a bossyboots stingray, a courageous buffalo, and a hopeful round someone called Plastic” by putting on your dancing shoes AND bringing your own favorite toy/plush creature to the library.  Children’s Librarian Heather Baker will be leading the fun on Tuesday, February 19, at 2:00 PM.

We’ll twist and twirl to the music pumped out by our fabulous, music playing “washing machine.”  It’s an hour of jumping around, dancing, laughing and singing, with all your friends (plus a plush buffalo, plush stingray, and a ball named Plastic), on a day off from school!  Our “Toy Dance Party” is for elementary-aged kids and preschoolers alike, as well as for their favorite toy companion, of course.  We’ll finish up with a Conga-line through the Children’s Room, with refreshments at the “end of the line.”   Parents should expect to stay with younger participants throughout the “Dance Party” event.  We’ll also have copies of Toy Dance Party, the wonderful children’s book by Emily Jenkins, on hand to borrow, but it is NOT necessary to read the book to enjoy all the fun!

Canton’s “Toy Dance Party” special event is free and no registration is necessary. Canton Public Library is at 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton.  For information:  (860) 693-5800 or www.cantonpubliclibrary.org
