A three-car accident on Route 44 near the intersection of Dowd Avenue caused some traffic snares for about a half hour Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, emergency officials responded to the scene for a report of a three-car accident with injuries. No one, however, required transport to the hospital.

Police, the town of Canton Volunteer Fire and EMS Department and others responded to the scene, assisting with traffic, fluid clean-up and other matters.

East-bound traffic was diverted by Gallery on the Green to Dowd Avenue and back to Route 44. West-bound traffic was backed up but mostly flowed through the scene.

Holmes & Bahre and Davidson Chevrolet assisted with towing vehicles.

Around 11 a.m., the scene was nearly clear. Further details were not immediately available.
