Lola and Me: Uniquely Adorable and Surprisingly Well Priced
Entrepreneur focuses on attracting locals for grand reopening of children’s boutique.
While the colorful and whimsical picture window at Lola and Me is hard to ignore, on your way either into or out of Collinsville, new owner Naomi Stanhope says that’s just what many in town seem to do.
“My typical customer is someone who is visiting Collinsville, versus a native.” With an upcoming Grand Reopening in March, Stanhope hopes to tempt the local community to stop in and see what out-of-towners find so special.
This is no ordinary, been there, seen that, Babies 'R' Us store. Maybe it’s the snuggle blankets in the shapes of animals or the fire trucks, tug boats and construction vehicles made from recycled materials.
There are interactive books; hand painted furniture; and a large array of organic and natural fabric clothing for babies to young children. About Town is still thinking about that tiny, pink tutu with bows.
It’s all uniquely adorable and surprisingly well priced.
“These are the types of items you don’t normally see outside the city; especially for these prices,” says Stanhope.
Stanhope is eager to put her own stamp on the Lola and Me brand; one that comes from a lifetime interest in what makes children tick. Her resume reflects that interest.
After many years caring for young children in daycare and as a nanny, Stanhope just completed her degree in Organizational Management, Entrepreneurship and Early Childhood Education. But perhaps even more important than her resume is the influence of her muse, 3-year-old niece Ayiana.
“Ayiana was the first grandchild and the first niece in the family. It helps to think what Ayiana would like when choosing the special items for our store.”
Stanhope is planning a Grand Reopening, on March 9 and 10, to both thank her current customers for their patronage and to invite the local community to stop by. “There will be a lot of new spring merchandise, as well as a 10 percent in-store coupon; 15 percent for Canton residents.”
Final Impressions: Lola and Me is an out of the ordinary place in the middle of Collinsville. And that should come as no surprise.

Went to Lola and Me for the first time two weeks ago - a great store and left with far more than I went in for. All around, a great part of Collinsville - I highly recommend it for anyone in the market for baby gifts, toys or accessories.
