Video: High School Bands Pay Tribute to Police, Fire Departments
Selections include patriotic songs, 9/11 tribute.
The Canton High School Concert and Symphonic bands hosted a special Tribute and Remembrance Concert in honor of those who perform public service, especially the Canton Police Department and the town of Canton Volunteer Fire and EMS Department.
Music during the Monday night show consisted of patriotic numbers, marches, and Grant Them Eternal Rest, a multi-piece movement in honor of those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Other selections included the National Athem, Tribute, Overture to a New Beginning, An American Fanfare and Crosley March.
Guest speakers included Police Chief Christopher Arciero and Fire Capt. Wayne Goeben. Students Jillian Goeler and Matoaka Kipp introduced the pieces and gave a brief background on each.
