Canton Photo of the Day: Supporting Those With Lupus

WTIC Radio personality Jim Vicevich speaks at a Lupus benefit show at Bridge Street Live Saturday night. 

Vicevich, who suffers from Lupus, explained a little about the disease and announced that one day earlier $1 million had been donated toward a planned Lupus Center of Excellence, a patient support facility that would be part of the Hospital of Central Connecticut. 

Roughly $3 million is needed to get the center off the ground and the hope is to open it in 2014, Vicevich said. 

The concert featured Becky Kessler, Steve Jones and Jr. Krauss and The Shakes. 

In addition to the cost of admission, numerous items were raffled off to help raise money for the cause. The concert was sponsored by the Jules Poirier Company.
